I just spent more time than I care to think about hibernating on the third floor of the library, reading history. I read so very, very much about Portugese exploration in Africa and the Atlantic prior to 1492. A whole lot of different styles of ships came and went, the first European colonial war showed up in there somewhere, slaves were taken, Moors (not moops) were fought in large amounts, and islands galore were discovered. However, I have only retained one piece of specific information.
Prince Henry the Navigator remained a virgin for his whole life.
Oh, and the Portugese put tildes over 'a's. How in the hell does one pronounce
that?
Clearly, I have a successful academic future ahead of me.
